Vessels may be registered for single voyage registrations such as:
- Delivery Voyage due to sale of vessel
- Voyage for Scrap/Demolition
- Transfer to Dockyard
All Maritime Safety Regulations must be complied with during the period of the registration.
Copy of Documents for submission:
- Application Form R1-2
- Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) or Bill of Sale (BOS) if change of ownership has occurred
- Builder's Certificate (for new buildings)
- Owner's Certificate of Incorporation
- Memorandum and Articles of Association
- Copy of Notarised Applicant's/Owner's Passport
- Proof of 3rd party liability insurance coverage e.g. P&I
Copy of Certificates for submission:
- Existing Certificate of Registry
- Existing International Tonnage Certificate
- Existing SOLAS Certificates where applicable
- Existing MARPOL Certificates where applicable
- Existing Load Line Certificate
- Existing Continuous Synopsis Record (CSR) File starting from Document No.1 where applicable
Upon receipt of the above documents, Tuvalu will issue the following Certificates:
- Certificate of Registry
- Ship Station Licence (as required)
- Minimum Safe Manning Certificate (as required)
- Special Voyage Permit (as required)
The Tuvalu Ship Registry allows for exemptions from the issuance of statutory certificates required by international conventions. However such exemption is subject to approval by the Port State and only granted if Tuvalu is fully satisfied with the condition of the vessel after survey by any one of Tuvalu Ship Registry's recognised classification societies.
