Registration Procedures
Procedures and requirements involved for the available registration services
 
Normal Registration
All vessels can be registered with TVR. Vessel above 15 years old is required to submit a special survey report on the condition of the vessel for evaluation before registering.
 
Single Delivery Voyage
Single Delivery Voyage is a short term registration for the purpose of delivery of ships in ballast condition to new owner or for scrapping purpose and is valid for a maximum of 3 months, depending on the type of vessel and voyage.
 
Bareboat Charter-In
A bareboat charter-in registration is for 2 years, which may be extended upon application, subjected to the approval of the registrar.
 
Bareboat Charter-Out
A vessel may be bareboat chartered-out and registered with another registry in the name of the bareboat charterer. The original registry has to be suspended during the charter period. Bareboat charter means the hiring of the vessel for a stipulated period which gives the charterer possession and control of the vessel, including the right to appoint the master and crew.

Change of Ownership
Registration anew is required upon any change of ownership and upon any major alteration to a vessel.
 
COE/GOC/DCE
An applicant who is eligible in all other respects may be issued a Tuvaluan's COE, provided the seafarer is currently duly certificated by a foreign government whose certification system is in compliance with the STCW Convention, and is acceptable (IMO's white list) to the Administration.
