The registration of a Tuvalu vessel may be temporarily closed or suspended and the vessel may be registered elsewhere due to bareboat charter out arrangements made by the Owner.
Original Documents for submission:
- Application Form R4
- Original or Certified True Copy of Bareboat Charter Agreement
- Written Consent from the registered Mortgagee(s) if any
- Notarised Applicant's/Owner's Passport
Annual fees are paid in advance. Upon receipt of the fees and the necessary documents, the registration of the vessel will be suspended for a period of one year and the vessel will be issued a Certificate of Suspension. This period of suspension may be extended upon application.

During this temporary closure, mortgages can still be recorded in the Tuvalu register if required.
