A Tuvalu ship may be bareboat chartered-out and registered elsewhere and its Tuvalu nationality temporarily closed (suspended).
Original Documents Required:
- Application Form R4
- Certified Copy of Bareboat Charter Agreement
- Certificate of Registry for the ship issued by the Tuvalu Ship Registry

| During this temporary closure, mortgages can still be recorded in the register, and the annual tonnage tax remains payable.
